PML offers engineering services for:
PML engineering services can bring the world of product visualization, virtual prototyping and rapid prototyping to your door. We are here to help you keep up with these fast changing technologies, to separate the fact from the hype and to integrate the tools that will work best in your manufacturing organization. By utilizing leading edge CAD/CAM and rapid prototyping technology in-house and forming strategic partnerships with leaders in other fields, we are equipped to deliver the finest manufacturing solutions. PML's services can be integrated into any stage of your design and manufacturing process. Using LOM and CNCs, prototype castings can be produced directly by the sand or investment casting process. Casting tools can be produced directly from 3D CAD models. Patterns, from LOM or CNC, can be mounted directly to a matchplate. For example, if you need a prototype part for fit-up testing, we can use your CAD database or complete the design on our CAD system and deliver the part and CAD file in a format compatible with your system. We will use the RP process most appropriate to your particular part (LOM, FDM, CNC, etc.). If you wish, PML can carry the project farther along, supplying tooling for short run or production quantities. Our precision measurement lab is continuously utilized during the course of a project. Masters, tooling, parts, and fixturing are all inspected. This identifies discrepancies as they occur, so that they can be dealt with accordingly. As an established industry leader, PML prides itself on providing high quality prototyping solutions. PML features model and pattern making capabilities with:
What is LOM?With the Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM) process from Helisys, PML can produce 3D models of virtually any complexity. Resulting models are wood-like parts that can be used as tooling for sand and investment casting, and as models for fit and form. Regardless of geometry, LOM models are precise representations of the CAD model. CAD data goes into the LOM system's process controller and a cross-sectional slice is created. A laser cuts the cross-sectional outline in the top layer. A new layer is bonded to the previously cut layer and a new cross-section is created and cut as before. The process continues until the model is complete. PML, Inc. |
